What makes this beach towel special

• 600 gsm fabric weight – significantly more material than typical beach towels, which usually range between 300 and 450 gsm; the denser terry cloth absorbs correspondingly more water before it's soaked.
• Size 90 × 170 cm (35.4 × 66.9 inches) – for most adults, it reaches from the shoulders to below the knees and can be spread out as a mat on a sun lounger without the ends hanging down.
• Woven checkerboard pattern – the checks are created by yarn-dyed threads in the weave, which means they won't fade or crack; printed beach towels lose their design after just a few summers.
• Pattern as a band rather than across the whole surface – part of the towel remains solid-colored, making the check an accent rather than appearing too busy.

Does such a heavy towel even dry?

Slower than a thin one – that's the price for its absorbency. Therefore, hang the towel to dry after use; don't leave it rolled up in your bag, otherwise, it will smell musty within two days. Wash at 40 °C, do not use fabric softener, as it glues the loops together and permanently reduces absorbency. Wash separately before first use; only then does cotton reach its full absorbency.
