What makes these cups special in daily use

• Rough exterior, smooth interior: The cup only has the coarse speckling on the outside; the inside is consistently smooth-glazed. This provides a good grip without the lip feeling a rough edge.
• Wide, angular handle: Two fingers fit through – by no means a given for low cups. The full cup can be lifted securely without it hanging on your finger.
• Low, conical shape: The wide opening with a low height fits under most coffee machines and portafilters where a tall cup would not.
• Capacity 280 to 310 ml (9.5 to 10.5 fl oz): Designed for latte macchiato, cappuccino, and a large cup of tea, with dimensions of 12.2 x 6.3 cm (4.8 x 2.5 in).
• Stoneware instead of thin-walled porcelain: The thicker wall retains heat longer. The coffee stays noticeably hotter than in a thin-walled mug.

Why does no cup look like the other?

The glaze flows at high temperatures and reacts to the firing temperature and position in the kiln. Therefore, the color gradient, speckle density, and pattern placement vary for each piece – this is part of the process and not a defect. If you expect six exactly identical cups, you are better off with industrially printed porcelain. For care: The dense body is dishwasher safe, but the matte exterior is sensitive to scouring agents and metal sponges. Arrange the cups so they do not touch each other, as the rough surface can cause abrasion if they come into contact.
