Does the metallic layer last permanently?

It is an applied coating, not integrally colored glass. It is sensitive to abrasive cleaners, metal sponges, and dishwashers, whose detergents and continuous heat will dull the coating over time. Wash the vase by hand with warm water and a narrow bottle brush and wipe the exterior with a soft cloth to prevent water spots from remaining on the reflective surface. For lime scale rings inside, let a solution of warm water and a little citric acid soak, then rinse thoroughly. Do not scrape the narrow neck with hard tools.
