Covering, arranging, proper washing

Wash the cover separately before first use, as new textiles can release color during the first wash – this is particularly relevant for colorful embroidery on a light background, as strong yarn colors would visibly bleed onto cream. To cover, compress the inner cushion at two opposite corners, slide it into the cover, and then shape the corners from the outside; if the cushion is pushed in flat, the corners will remain empty and the cushion will appear deflated. Close the zipper completely before placing the cushion. Regularly fluff and turn cushions in the seating area to prevent the inner cushion from permanently compressing in one spot. Embroidery care: Remove the cover, close the zipper, and turn the fabric inside out – this is crucial for embroidered covers, as the raised threads could otherwise snag on zippers and buttons of other laundry, and entire sections could be pulled out. Do not tumble dry; heat causes the base fabric and embroidery yarn to shrink at different rates, which can cause the surface to warp and no longer lie flat. Air dry, lying flat instead of hanging, in the shade and not in direct sunlight. Do not dry on a heater. To smooth, iron only from the inside out on a medium setting, preferably with a cloth in between – direct ironing on the embroidery will permanently flatten the relief. Dab stains promptly with cold water instead of rubbing. Do not pull loose threads, but cut them flush, otherwise an entire embroidered section will unravel.
