Too little space for a shelf, too little for a side table – so the strip of wall remains unused. This hand-woven rattan basket fills precisely that gap. It hangs on a single hook, lies flat against the wall with its flat back, and holds greenery, mail, or small items at eye level without taking up floor space.

What makes the wall basket work

• Flat back: The half-shell shape hardly protrudes forward. Therefore, the basket fits into hallways and niches where a round basket would already brush against your shoulder.
• Woven rattan hanging loop: It is integrated into the rim of the basket, not glued on, and supports the weight across the entire edge rather than at a single point.
• Hand-woven from natural rattan: Each basket gets a slightly unique curve and grain due to manual production – two pieces next to each other therefore look like a collection and not a double purchase.
• Open weave structure: Air flows through the weave, preventing waterlogging under onions, garlic, or damp cloths.
• Mounting on a hook: A wall hook or a screw is sufficient. No drilling pattern, no row of dowels, no leveling with a spirit level.
• Low net weight: Rattan weighs a fraction of a ceramic wall planter. The basket also holds on drywall with a simple hollow wall anchor.

Can you plant directly into the basket?

No – the open weave does not hold water and would get soaked. Place the plant pot with its saucer into the basket, or line it with coir mat and foil before filling with soil. For artificial plants and dried flowers, this is not necessary at all. Before mounting, check whether the hook is designed for the weight of the filled basket, and hang the basket high enough so that the opening faces forward. To clean, run a dry brush through the weave; rattan cannot tolerate constant dampness and does not belong outdoors without shelter.
