Covering, arranging, proper washing

Wash the cover separately before first use, as new natural fibers may bleed color and shrink slightly during the first wash cycle. To cover, compress the inner cushion at two opposite corners, slide it into the cover, and then shape the corners from the outside; if the cushion is pressed in flat, the corners remain empty and the cushion looks sunken. After covering, smooth the ruffle all around by hand so that the crimping is evenly distributed and does not bunch up in one place. Regularly fluff and turn cushions in the seating area so that the inner cushion does not permanently compress in one spot. To wash, remove the cover and turn it inside out to protect the ruffle and prevent it from snagging on other textiles. Wash at 30 °C (86 °F) on a gentle cycle with similar colors, ideally in a laundry net. Do not overfill the drum, otherwise the ruffle will be crushed and lose its crimping. Do not use fabric softener, as it smooths the cotton fiber and makes the ruffle fall flatter. Do not use bleach or detergents with optical brighteners for colored covers. Do not tumble dry; heat causes cotton to shrink, making the cover no longer fit over the inner cushion. Air dry, lying flat or loosely hung, in the shade and not in direct sunlight, as textile colors may otherwise fade unevenly. Do not dry on the heater. To smooth, iron the cover slightly damp, avoiding the ruffle or only working with the tip of the iron between the folds – if ironed flat, it will permanently lose its volume. Rinse stains promptly with cold water before they dry. For loose threads, do not pull them, but cut them flush.
