• Dense loop relief: The surface appears padded, although the fabric itself is thin. The cushion feels softer than its thickness suggests.
• Dimensionally stable edges: The firm bouclé grip keeps the corners upright instead of slumping against the sofa back.
• Format 45 x 45 cm (17.7 x 17.7 in): The most common decorative cushion size – you can find suitable inserts in German, British, and US stores without special dimensions.

Do the loops get caught on zippers and claws?

This is exactly where bouclé is sensitive – pulled threads are caused by snagging, not abrasion. Never cut off a pulled loop, but pull it back into the fabric from the inside with a blunt needle. Wash the cover inside out at 30 °C (86 °F) on a gentle cycle without bleach and let it air dry; heat from the dryer flattens the relief. For plump corners, choose an insert that is about 2 cm (0.8 in) larger than the cover.
