What this fabric can do that a thin robe cannot

• 100% cotton terry loops: Each loop increases the fabric surface area. Water is drawn into the fiber by capillary action instead of just being spread – the reason for the 15 to 20-second absorption time.
• Yarn-dyed jacquard weave: The pattern is created by colored yarns during the weaving process, not by printing on the surface. It won't fade or peel at the edges.
• Cotton absorbs moisture, polyester does not: The natural fiber can bind many times its weight in water. Synthetic fibers push it to the surface, where it remains cold on the skin.
• Substantial basis weight: The dense pile traps body heat instead of letting it escape. This is why you don't get cold on the way from the bathroom to the bedroom.
• Becomes softer with every wash: Cotton loops stand up and loosen again during washing. The absorbency even increases during the first few washes.
• One size fits 155–182 cm (5'1"–6'0"): Length 112 cm (44 in), sleeve length 51 cm (20 in). The wide cut makes the size unisex and allows room for overlapping.

Does terry cloth get hard after a few washes?

Terry cloth gets hard due to fabric softener, not due to washing. Fabric softener leaves a film on the cotton fiber that glues the loops together and significantly reduces absorbency – the robe initially feels soft but then hardly absorbs any water. Wash it on a gentle cycle in a laundry net, without fabric softener, and shake it vigorously before drying so that the loops stand up. Air dry or tumble dry at a low temperature. Remove the belt before washing so that it doesn't wrap around the drum.

After showering, you no longer reach for a towel – you put on the robe and simply continue.
