You step out of the shower, grab the towel, and after drying your back, it's soaked through. There's nothing left for your hair, so you grab a second one. Thin towels feel good when purchased but absorb little water because too little material is used. This bath towel measures 70 × 140 cm (27.6 × 55.1 inches) and weighs 600 g/m².

Does such a heavy towel dry at all?

Slower than a thin one – that's the price for its absorbency. Therefore, hang the towel to dry instead of folding it; in windowless bathrooms, it's better to hang it outside. Wash at 40 to 60 °C, do not use fabric softener, as it glues the loops and permanently reduces absorbency. Wash separately before first use; only then does cotton reach its full absorbency.
